Where are you located?

We own Uptown Social in Charleston, located at 587 King Street

Who are you and is there a fee to use your service?

We are the in-house event department for Uptown Social and our other locations in NYC and Chicago. We are not a third party booking service and are under the same ownership of the bars. It's completely free to use our service!

What does it cost to book a private party room?

There are no rental or room fees. Instead, we have food & drink minimums that must be spent within your contracted party time frame. The minimum is determined by the date, location, and time slot of your event.

What's the difference between well, top shelf, and premium brands?

Well liquors are the no-name generic house brands of rum, vodka, gin, tequila, whiskey etc?

Top Shelf Liquors are 90% of name brands such as Tito?s, Pinnacle, Ketel One, Tanqueray, Captain Morgan, El Jimador, Jack Daniels, Fireball, Jim Beam, Bulleit bourbon, bulleit rye, JW Red, Tullamore Dew, Crown Royal etc?

Premium liquors are our elite brands such as Grey Goose, Casamigos silver/reposado/anejo, JW Black, Basil Hayden, Glenfiddich 12, etc?

Do you allow outside catering?

We do not. We offer a full catering menu. We do our best to accommodate all of your dietary restrictions and our menu offers vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, keto, and paleo options. If you have special requirements (such as Kosher) that we are unable to accommodate, outside catering may be allowed.

Can I put a room on hold?

We do not hold our spaces as we book them on a first-come, first-serve basis.

How do I book a room?

Once you are ready to book, we email a contract with all the details. We do require a credit card to hold the reservation. The credit card is not being charged at this time, only authorized. All payment is handled on the day of your event with credit card or cash.

What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel your event penalty-free if you cancel prior to 90 days of the event date. If you cancel within 90 days your food and beverage minimum is due. If you book and cancel the event with 90 days the food and beverage minimum is still due.

Can I decorate the room?

The room is yours to decorate! Depending on the location, time, and date, you will have 15 minutes to 1 hour to set up and decorate before your event starts. Our rooms look beautiful on their own; but if you are looking to personalize a space with photos, banners, balloons, or other imaginative touches, we applaud your efforts. You may tape or tack items, but please use good judgment and do not damage space. If there is any question, ask about specific restrictions on certain party rooms.

What methods of payment are accepted?

All payment is done on the day or night of your event. We accept cash, credit card, bank checks, or business checks (personal checks not accepted).

The hospitality tax is a uniform tax of 2% on the gross proceeds derived from the sales of prepared meals, food, and beverages sold in or by establishments, or those licensed for on-premises consumption of alcoholic beverages, beer, or wine.
